This is an unusual plant fossil. It is a fossilized root (Stigmaria) from Pennsylvania. This specimen was found about 10 years ago. It has a nice main root preserved, with many of the small rootlets still intact. This is an uncommon tree fossil from the Coal Fields of Pennsylvania.
