Annularia With Great Contrast From An Unusual Location

Size:  Concretion is 3.3 inches long.

This specimen was collected March 1, 1975. It is a pretty specimen of Annularia sp. from an unusual location. This specimen is from the Senora Formation of Oklahoma. The fossil is preserved in a siderite concretion. Only half of the concretion is present. The fossil has great color and superb contrast. Annularia represent the leaf whorls found at the nodes of the Calamites plant. This specimen exhibits fine detail. The individual leaves are quite evident. This is a nice example of Annularia from an unexpected location.
