Allophylus Leaf Still Attached To Branch
Stock Number  FPUAL03

Name:   Allophylus flexifolia
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River
Location:  Near Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 3.1 inches long including petiole. Branch is 3.4 inches long.

Here is an unusual specimen. This is Allophylus flexifolia. Allophylus leaves, as such, are not rare. However, when they are still attached to the branch by a long petiole, it is a different story. Specimens of leaves that show the branch attachment are very scarce. This specimen has good color and contrast. It is nicely displayed on a natural plate of shale. This is an aesthetic specimen of a leaf still attached to the branch.
