Beautiful Annularia Displaying Multiple Whorls

Size:  Nodule is 2.8 inches long.

This is a very pretty specimen of Annularia sp. from the Pennsylvanian of Missouri. Annularia represent the leaf whorls found at the nodes of the Calamites plant. The fossil is preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion are present. This specimen displays two and a half whorls of Annularia. The fossil has good color and nice contrast. Fine detail is exhibited. The individual leaves are easily seen. This is a great specimen of Annularia.
