Here is a very rare fossil leaf from the divi divi tree. This is a fine specimen of Caesalpinia pecorae from the Green River Shale. The midvein is slender and extends to the apex. The leaf exhibits very weak secondary venation. The entire margins are nicely displayed. The fossil leaf has great color and contrast. It is well centered on the natural plate of shale. On the reverse side of the plate is a fossil beetle. This is a nice specimen of this rare leaf from the Eocene of Utah.
