Size: Fruit is almost 1.3 inches long.
This is a very fine specimen of a fruiting body from Ailanthus, the tree of heaven. This is a rare specimen from the Green River Formation. The fruit displays an oval seed that is placed centrally in the samara. The samara is long and ovate, with linear venation. The fosil has good color and contrast. It is well positioned on the squared matrix plate. This is a fine example of this unusual fruiting body.
