Size: Nodule is 3.7 inches long.
This is a fine specimen of Neuropteris decipiens from the strip mines of northern Illinois. The seed fern is preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion are present. The leaf is complete all the way to the tip. The fossil exhibits fine venation. This is a nice specimen of Neuropteris from the Coal Age.
