Fossil Seed Fern Plate
Age: Pennsylvanian
Formation: Llewellyn
Location: St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size: Plate is approximately 5" X 8.5"
This is a very displayable fossil seed fern plate from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. There are several different Pennsylvanian age seed ferns present on the slab. This is a very interesting plate of coal-age plants from a classic site.
