Great Willow Leaf With Excellent Color
Stock Number  FPUSA06

Name:   Salix cockerelli (Willow)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 3.2" long including petiole

Here is a wonderful specimen of Salix cockerelli, a willow, from the Eocene of Utah. This leaf is complete and exhibits fine detail. The lanceolate leaf displays the finely toothed margins very nicely, and the very tip of the leaf is intact. The complete petiole is still tightly attached to the leaf. The specimen has excellent, natural color and contrast and is well presented on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very striking example of a willow leaf from the Green River Formation.
