This is a very unusual fossil plant. It is a beautiful specimen of Otozamites feistmantelli, a Jurassic cycad from Australia. These are not ferns, but much rarer cycad fronds. The fossil plants have gorgeous yellowish-orange coloration that is totally natural. The plants contrast well with the reddish-maroon matrix. The fronds have very fine detail, and the large plate displays wonderfully. There are even cycad fronds on the back side of the slab. This is a stunning display plate of this highly collectible fossil plant.
