Very Unusual Plant Bulb From Argentina

Formation:  "Petrified Forest"
Location:  Cerro Cuadrado, Patagonia, Argentina

Here is a very unique plant fossil. This is an excellent specimen of an unidentified plant bulb from the Jurassic of Argentina. This is from the same area in which the very beautiful Araucaria cones are found. However, this plant bulb is much more rare. The bulb is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. It has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. This is a wonderful example of this highly uncommon plant fossil from South America.
