Very Pretty Annularia In Siderite Concretion
Stock Number  FPFMI02

Name:   Annularia sp.
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Braidwood
Location:  Johnson County, Missouri
Size:  Fern nodule is 1.6 inches across.

Here is a pretty specimen of Annularia sp. from the Coal Age of Missouri. Annularia represents a whorl of leaves found at the node of a Calamites plant. The fossil has great color and contrast. The leaves are very nicely exhibited. The fossil is preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion are present. This is a nice example of this Pennsylvanian plant from the mid-continent.
