Fantastic Display Specimen Of Platanus wyomingensis

Name:   Platanus wyomingensis
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River
Location:  Near Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 4.3 inches wide and 4.2 inches long including petiole.

This is an excellent display specimen of Platanus wyomingensis, a sycamore, from the Green River Formation. All five lobes of the leaf are present and complete. The venation of the leaf is well displayed. The coarsely toothed margins are spectacular. The specimen exhibits a nice petiole. The fossil has great color and contrast. The symmetrical leaf is very well centered on the natural matrix plate. This is a spectacular fossil sycamore leaf.
