Ginkgo adiantoides
Age: Paleocene
Formation: Fort Union
Location: Almont, North Dakota
Size: Leaf is 3.6" wide.
This is a large specimen of Ginkgo adiantoides from the Paleocene of North Dakota. The general outline of the leaf is very nice. The palmate venation is well displayed. The leaf has natural, white color which contrasts wonderfully with the dark brown matrix. The specimen is well centered on a rectangular piece of matrix. There are two winged seeds of Cyclocarya on the reverse side of the plate. This is a very displayable fossil ginkgo leaf.
