Name:   Fossil Seed Fern Frond
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Llewellyn
Location:  St. Clair, Pennsylvania

This is a very nice single fossil seed fern frond from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. This seed fern is preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The detail of the seed fern is very good. There is also another small seed fern preserved on the plate. This is a fine example of a fossil seed fern from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
