Fossil Seed Fern
Age: Pennsylvanian

Location: Johnson County, Missouri
Size: Concretion is 3.2 inches long
Here is a very pretty fossil seed fern from the Pennsylvanian of Missouri. This large plant is preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion are present so both part and counterpart are present. The seed fern has very nice detail - the individual leaflets are wonderfully defined. This fossil plant has great color and contrast. This is a very fine example of a fossil seed fern from the Coal Age of Missouri.
