Size: Leaf is 3.5 inches long including petiole.
This is an excellent specimen of Acer lesquereuxi, a fossil maple. This specimen is from the Eocene of Utah. Maple leaves are very uncommon from this location. This leaf displays very nicely. All five lobes of the leaf are present. The venation of the leaf is easily seen. The leaf exhibits a long, strong petiole. The fossil has nice color and wonderful contrast. It is well centered on the matrix block. This is a very aesthetic specimen of a fossil maple leaf.
