This is a large specimen of Astronium truncatum, a tropical flower from the Green River Formation. Flowers are extremely rare in the fossil record. This specimen displays all five petals in the "umbrella" position. The fossil has good color and contrast. It is well centered on the natural matrix block. This is a very displayable specimen of a rare fossil flower from the Eocene of Utah.
