Size: Frond is approximately 3.5 inches long.
Here is a fabulous specimen of Metasequoia occidentalis, "dawn redwood", from the Oligocene of Montana. The specimen has great color and superb contrast - all natural, no added enhancement. It is almost perfectly centered on the natural matrix plate. It is very aesthetic in the way it is curled around at the top of the frond. This is a beautiful display specimen of this "living fossil".
