Size:  Frond is 3.1 inches long.

This is a very aesthetic specimen of Metasequoia occidentalis from Montana. This specimen is unique in the fact that it shows a branching frond. The fossil has great color and wonderful contrast. It is well centered on a natural plate of matrix. This is a superb specimen of "dawn redwood" from the Oligocene.
