Unusual Fossil Cedar From British Columbia
Stock Number  FPCA03

Name:   Chamaecyparis sp.
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Allenby Formation
Location:  Princeton, British Columbia, Canada
Size:  Cedar sprig is 5.5 inches long.

This is a very large sprig of a fossil cedar from the Eocene of British Columbia. The sprigs have small, scalelike leaves oppositely attached. The fossil has great black color and contrasts nicely with the brownish matrix. The branching sprig is quite aesthetic. This is a very nice specimen of this evergreen plant.
