Size: Leaf is 3.0 inches long including petiole.
Here is a great specimen of Celtis mccoshii, a hackberry, from the Green River Formation. The lance-shaped leaf displays very nice venation. The serrated margins of the leaf are quite distinct. A very thin petiole is attached to the leaf. The fossil has excellent color and contrast. It is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular block of matrix. This is a very fine specimen of a fossil hackbery leaf from the Eocene of Utah.
