Name:
Sandinopsis sp.
Age: Cretaceous
Formation: Sublithographic Limestone
Location: Nammoura, Lebanon
Size: Plate is 5.4" X 9.6"
Here is a spectacular fossil plant from a ''new'' site in Lebanon. This is a HUGE Sandinopsis sp. from the Cretaceous. This leaf has three, very distinct, long, pointed lobes with an extremely stout point of stem attachment. The entire margins of the leaf are wonderfully displayed all the way to the very tips of the lobes. The fossil has great color and contrast and is beautifully displayed on the large, unbroken, rectangular plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a very displayable example of this Cretaceous plant.
