This is a very detailed specimen of Allophylus flexifolia. This fossil leaf is from the Eocene of Utah. The leaf has great color and superb contrast. It is well centered on the rectangular block of shale. The venation of the leaf is very pronounced. The specimen shows the serrated margins very nicely. The stem (petiole) is attached to the leaf.
