This is a very large plant fossil. It is a striking plate of fossil fern fronds from Pennsylvania. The ferns on this slab are replaced with the mineral pyrophyllite, which makes the ferns white. The MANY fern fronds have very good detail preserved, and they contrast very well with the black shale matrix. And at FOURTEEN INCHES ACROSS, the fossil is very impressive. This is a very large, displayable grouping of classic fossil fern fronds from the Coal Age of Pennsylvania.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
