Allophylus flexifolia Leaf
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Allophylus leaf is 4 inches long
Price: SOLD
This is a very nice fossil leaf. It is a distinct Allophylus flexifolia leaf from the Eocene of Utah. This leaf has an asymmetrical base and slightly serrated margins. The body of the leaf is easily seen, and the petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has very good natural color and contrast and is wonderfully showcased on the large, squared plate of shale that also contains an extremely bug-eaten leaf - the voracious appetite of the insects left hardly any flesh on the stem! This is a very collectible example of a nice Allophylus leaf and near-fully bug-eaten leaf from the Green River Formation.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
