This is a phenominal fossil leaf. It is a large Allophylus leaf from Utah. This specimen is quite impressive - ALMOST FIVE INCHES LONG! The leaf has great color and detail. The venation of the leaf is easily seen. The petiole (stem) is long and complete down to the the branch attachment point. The leaf is beautifully showcased on the large, squared matrix block. And just to give it some character, the leaf is partially bug-eaten - it was a meal for a 50 million year old insect! This is an extremely collectible fossil leaf from the Eocene.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
