This is a nice specimen of Mimosites coloradensis from the Green River Shale. Mimosites leaves are not uncommon from this site. However, one this large and this detailed is quite rare. This specimen is quite distinct - the venation of the long leaf is evident. The entire margins and petiole of the leaf are nicely displayed. This is a very interesting specimen of Mimosites from the Eocene of Utah.
