This is an extremely uncommon leaf from the Green River Formation. It is a beautiful Gymnocladus hesperia from Colorado. This leaf is quite large for the type and exhibits great detail. The slightly crenate margins of the leaf are intact and clearly defined. The acuminate apex of the leaf is well preserved, and the weak venation of this species of plant is even evident. The leaf has outstanding, natural color and contrast and is wonderfully showcased on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very collectible example of a rare leaf from the Rocky Mountains.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
