This is a very unusual plant fossil. It is a pair of large Willow (Salix cockerelli) leaves from the Green River Formation of Colorado. It is uncommon in the fossil record to find two fossil leaves of the same type preserved so close together. This specimen has two very nice leaves preserved. The leaves have great detail and very good natural color and contrast. The leaves are well positioned on the semi-squared plate of shale. This is an excellent example of a plate with two nice willow leaves preserved.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
