This is a very nice fossil leaf. It is a fine Zelkova nervosa (Keaki Tree) leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. This lance-shaped leaf is complete and exhibits wonderful detail. The slightly serrated margins of the leaf are beautifully displayed, and the venation is well preserved. The distinct petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The fossil leaf has great color and contrast and is very well displayed on the squared plate of shale. This is a striking example of a Zelkova leaf from the Eocene.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
