Here is an extremely rare fossil plant. It is a very good specimen of Acrostichum hesperium from the Green River Formation of Utah. There are two Acrostichum leaves on this slab. This unusual plant has large, lobed leaves with undulating edges, which are nicely displayed on this specimen. The fossil has excellent color and contrast and is well showcased on the somewhat rectangular plate of shale that also has two Legume leaves on the right side. This is a great specimen of this highly unusual fossil plant from the Eocene.
