Here is a very pretty fossil leaf. This is Zelkova nervosa (Keaki Tree) from the Green River Formation of Colorado. This lance-shaped leaf has the slightly serrated margins wonderfully displayed, and the slightly rounded tip of the leaf is totally intact. The venation of the leaf is quite evident, and the stout petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The fossil plant has great color and contrast and is well centered on the natural plate of shale that also contains another Zelkova leaf. This is a fine specimen of a fossil leaf from the Keaki Tree.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
