Here is a wonderful specimen of Bursera inaequalateral from the Eocene of Utah. This leaf is highly uncommon from this location. The large leaf is oval in shape and exhibits strongly serrated margins in beautiful fashion. It has strong primary venation and weak, alternately arranged secondary venation. The short petiole is still tightly attached to the leaf. The fossil has superb dark color and contrasts nicely with the tannish matrix. The leaf is well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale that also contains a partial Sumac leaf. This is a very displayable example of this rare leaf from the Green River Shale.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
